SMALL VICTORIES CALENDAR

We present the SMALL VICTORIES CALENDAR (KMZ) – an effective tool for promoting independence and supporting healthy child development in various areas.
With KMZ, we want to focus parents' attention on desired behaviors and offer them support in defining and monitoring them. KMZ emphasizes the importance of small rewards, praise, hugs, smiles, and other warm forms of support. It also highlights small but important actions, such as recognizing physical needs, doing homework regularly, and greeting passersby, where parental support and responsiveness are key to achieving independence.
Using KMZ requires parents to consider which behaviors they want to reinforce in their child and in which areas they need more support. It encourages them to talk to their child and set goals together, monitor progress, and adjust goals. Joint planning and monitoring of behaviors offers opportunities for self-awareness, learning to make independent decisions, and talking about the emotions and feelings that accompany the process of learning, success, and failure.
Let small steps turn into big victories!

When designing the Calendar of Small Victories, we followed the guidelines of the Incredible Years program.
The Incredible Years program is designed to strengthen children's emotional, social, and cognitive development and to prevent and reduce behavioral problems. Parents in the program develop skills as useful tools, train themselves to observe their children and their emotional states, learn to understand their children's behavior, and recognize how to respond effectively in specific situations in life. By changing their approaches, parents change their children's behavior, which helps them progress in their emotional maturation, develop socially desirable behaviors, and strengthen their positive self-image. Positive parenting strengthens the bond between children and parents, has a protective effect, and improves existing difficult behaviors in children, thereby promoting and enabling safer and healthier child development.
Incredible Years is the program with the most evidence of effectiveness in preventing behavioral disorders in children, strengthening parenting and teaching skills, children's social and emotional competence, emotion regulation, school readiness, and reducing behavioral problems. The programs have been shown to improve the behavior and well-being of up to 80% of children whose parents and teachers are involved in the program.
